Casa Grande, AZ to Winchester, VA
View Larger Map This is the direction we took.
Our load from Casa Grande, Arizona delivered on December 26th. We actually had a 13:00 appointment time, but I called the customer and they said they would unload us early. I had been trying to get a hold of someone in the KNIGHT office because Greg, our DM had not given us a final plan to get us to my brother's for our home time in South Carolina. The receiver actually unloaded me early, which was kind of nice. I pulled up to the customer, but parked outside of the lot because I wasn't sure which dock I was going to get and this "Yahoo" Truck driver who was sitting in a dock (an older guy) told me I couldn't leave the truck parked where I was and that I needed to move it right away! I proceded to tell him that I'm ok where I was, which was out of the street parked between the fog line and the white line, not even in the road with my flashers on. This guy was flat out CRAZY! I finally did what he told me, without being happy too, and went into the receiver's office. The guy was still Yakking in my ear about some crazy stuff, and followed me inside. I told the guy right in front of the receiver that he shouldn't talk to me the way he was and for him to just leave me alone; finally the customer told him to just go back out and sit in his truck because he was causing problems. The way I had pulled into the customer's yard turned out to be just perfect because all I had to do was a "straight line back" into the open dock. The guy told me that the driver of the other truck was a nuiscance (spelling?) anyway and that they would tell his company NOT to send that guy over there again because of the way he treated the other drivers. I thought that was pretty cool.

Hey Mike and Gayle,Great pics of your family and sure would like to meet them someday. It sure sounds like that driver was on something. What did he think, that someone died that day, and left him duty traffic control? Anyhow, you handled that better than I would. It's now NewYear, so I hope you have a great time in Gatlenberg.
