Sitting in Dallas, Tx

Here we are, sitting at the Idle-Aire in Dallas, Texas. We were almost HOME (Stockton, California, in fact), when they decided to send us on another Team Load Rescue, as we seem to be the ones they choose to do this. They put us on a load coming out of Richmond, California, heading to Roanoke, and Houston, Texas. This was a load of ice-cream coming out of Richmond (Dreisbach), and when we delivered the first half of the load-they were short 3 cases of vanilla ice cream cups. I think it was there, because it was the 4th of July and HOT in Texas and why not say there was a shortage so they can have their Ice Cream and EAT IT TOO. he he he. Probably didn't happen that way, but it sounded good, huh? That was the Houston part of the load... The next load was late because it took them 4.5 hours to unload and count the freight! The next half of the load which goes to Roanoke, Tx, was 4 hours late and GUESS WHAT? They had gone home for the day and said we couldn't be unloaded until Monday (it was Friday) and we didn't want to sit on the load til then. We got a hold of our driver manager and explained our dilemma; which he took in mind and asked us to drop the load for a local driver to unload on Monday. We dropped it in the Hutchins Yard, in Dallas. Only about a mile marker down the highway. YIPPIE! We decided to get some showers, food, and rest at the idle aire here in Dallas, and next, hopefully, we will be headed to Georgia (maybe we will be close enough to see Dad.)... You just never know.
