Kansas City, Ks

First of all, I will tell you what happened while on a DHL load out of Tennessee. Unfamiliar with the territory and having two different GPS systems both trying to tell us how to get to DHL to deliver our load (now remember this: GPS systems don't know when there are detours or construction going on!)... Our Co-Pilot and Garmin were both trying to get us to the destination, but when we tried what they said, we ended right in the middle of a construction site, one which doesn't allow the weight of a big rig and a 53' trailer. Needless to say, we finally got the rig turned around in what looked like a fair grounds over in Kansas City, KS, and ended up heading up this hill (trying to get over the river where Mike said the Dell Plant was)... we ended up on this hill (45 degree right turn), up a hill, landing gear dragging (stopping us from going further up the hill), and let's just say we were in a predicament!... His experience, using a 4x4 turning technique got us turned around and heading down the hill into a railroad yard where we were able to turn the rig around and head up the hill without having to make the 45 degree right turn... By the time we got to the customer, it was dark, but we'd made it.... This is a fun job, driving big trucks, but you need to realize where they can and cannot go! We're learning more and more every day. We dropped the load and now we are on assignment to go to Kansas City, Mo, to pick up a FED EX load to take to Sacramento, CA...
